In
August 1999 issue of Runner's World Magazine rated,
Gemini and Phoenix, top of entry-level heart monitors on
page 79. "These easy-on-the-wallet heart-rate
monitors feature simple one- or two-line displays that
typically show heart rate, a clock, day/date calendar,
alarm and stopwatch. Some also feature a target
heart-rate zone alarm, which lets you set upper and lower
limits for the heart-rate zone you want to use. The
monitor beeps if your heart rate goes above or below these
limits."
Phoenix
evaluation: "In addition to heart rate,
you get a clock, day/date calendar, stopwatch, high/low
target-zone alarm and a back light. You'll
appreciate the prominence of the heart-rate numbers on the
two-line display, and the zone alarm is sufficiently
loud."
